I drive an Octavia tdi and theres a noise when i slightly turn the wheel and on full lock.Is it just a case of topping up the fluid or is there another problem.It does say in the manual that it not just a case of topping it up but to go to a dealership to have it check out.Cheers guys. p.s. Do i have to use the skoda fluid.

It's normal for there to be a whine on full lock (In either direction), I beleive it's the electronic servo straining

As for noticable noise during slight turns, this may be a power steering fluid problem as you have suggested, but If you don't have the PAS Light on the dashboard then you may want this moved to the Octavia rather than VAG-COM forum

Octavia 1 check and top up fluid if necessary, use the correct VW green fluid.

Octavia 2 - the steering is all electronic so no fluid.
