Hi All,

I have just purchased a set of 6010cs speakers and plan on fitting them at the weekend (weather permitting)

I plan on hosting the cross-over boxes under the drivers side dash and behind the glove box and I was just wondering (and I think this may be a silly quesion) if to route the wiring from the original speaker location, back into the car where the x-overs are....do you need to remove the door cards to do that?...or is it possible to do it without removing them?

I ran new cable from the HU too x-overs then through the door grommet to the speakers. No need to remove the door cards iirc.

I think this is what I did, I definatly ran new from the x-overs too the speakers. It's a while since I did mine and I've kind of forgotten what I did:O

Thanks for your quick response :)

ah I see..so you ran new cable from your head unit, ok cool. I think thats what I will do too...especially if it means leaving the door cards on.

Thanks!

Yes I did looking at this photo I can see that I did run new from the HU. I've ringed the area the x-over is for you as well in fact you just see it too the left although it since moved as my HF kit brain is in ther as well now. Needless too say it's getting crowed in there now.:D

Brilliant, thanks a lot

Fitted these today and at first I was dissapointed as they sounded just like the standard speakers....however, I then found an option on my head unit that states "X-Over"...

Anyway..played around with that and it made a HUGE difference. I am over the moon with them now, they sound great and are well worth the money (get em from ebay for £40)

Also, just to let you know, there is some trunking of cables behind the glovebox...try and avoid placing the crossover near this, as I found it makes the tweeter hum on the passenger side, when the ignition is on (I guess it causes some interference)

Thanks again for you help fatty, well chuffed :)
