Alloys

Featured Replies

Hi all,newbie;first post.

Storm blue(I think!)L&K dsg,2.0litre tdi, love it but it has the standard fairly boring slab sided 16" alloys which are v easy to kerb.

I'd like to upgrade to maybe the 17" wheels standard on the new L&K or something similar. How do I get the best deal?

My second Octi;previously 1.9tdi dsg,sahara,xenons,sunroof,6cd in dash, sunblind, buttons on s/wheel etc;guy ordered it with all this spec(elegance by the way)sadly popped his clogs before he could enjoy!Think I got a decent deal-£16,000 three years ago.

Book figures show mpg sim for 1.9 and 2.0 tdi,no way,2.0 quite a bit juicier-or is it my driving!!?

Cheers,David.

A couple of nice sounding cars there.

I think the general consensus would be that the 2.0 TDi is definitely thirstier than the 1.9 TDi - but it certainly does have a bit more go.

In terms of wheels, you can ask for a dealer price but they will be expensive.

Alternatively, bear in mind that other VAG group wheels will fit - Golf Mk V and some Audi wheels - look out for the 5 * 112 fitment.

Also do some googling for after market alloy wheels suppliers or check out plenty of new and second hand stuff on Ebay.

Finally keep your eye on the For Sale section on here. A good starting point would be some Audi alloys I just happen to have for sale. In need or refurbishment but priced accordingly - http://briskoda.net/forums/items-sale/audi-s-line-alloys-sale/113642/

A good selection of 17inch wheels can often be found on Ebay - try searching for '17 wheels Audi' or VW. A lot people seem to be upgrading the wheels on their Audis.

If you go this route suggest best way to buy is cash on collection so that you can check the wheels are as good as advertised, and you eliminate the chance of damage in transit

Positive is they often come with nearly new OE tyres

There are actually a selection of 17" alloys (Audi & Skoda) in the 'For Sale' section here; worth a look.

"...L&K dsg,2.0litre tdi" - Good choice, you won't regret it:thumbup:

"...standard fairly boring slab sided 16" alloys which are v easy to kerb..." - too true:weeping:

Welcome :balloons:
