Radiator Fan Problem

Featured Replies

Before I call the dealer wanted to know your opinion on the issue:

Soon after (approx. 2 min) U start the cold engine (vrs 2.0 TFSI petrol), radiator fan goes on, then works for 3 min and that lasts continuously until U turn the engine off. There are no any unusual changes in the dash temperature meter.

Looks like a faulty fan sensor in the radiator?

Thanx

It might be worth checking that it isn't running after you switch off.

I had a loaner RS that flattened the battery because the fan would switch itself on after you left the car.

I was told it was a faulty relay, but I have heard of water in the fuse box and a faulty control unit causing the same symptoms.

Sorry for my stupid question :)

Of course it was the AC, eco button off. I usually don't use AC and didn't notice it was switched on to the temperature U wouldn't feel any cool breeze.

Thanx for the ideas :)

You're welcome.

I wondered why a fan was always running when I first got A/C then worked it out after a bit of playing :)
