when it rains.....

Featured Replies

.....and you going down the motorway at about 70-80 does anyone else find it impossible to see the wing mirrors!? water seems to collect just outside the window in the corner then spread out across the window.

Aquapel is your friend ;)

I have a similar problem on my Mk1 - there's just a constant stream right across the section you look through when using the mirrors. Will have to see if Aquapel or similar will help, but as it's a constant stream rather than individual spots just sitting there, I don't know if it'll help much...

Even worse in the winter months as you get a lot of trapped dirt as well - was shocked at how much visibility I gained in the mirrors after washing.

Autocar identified this collection of water in the corner of the front windows as a weakness when they reviewed the new estate earlier this year

Sorry but when it rains, motorway, 70-80mph and pooled water on the windows are not happy bedfellows.

On all the fabias II's I have driven i did wander why nobody had tested it and fixed it before they passed the design. Same happens with the wipers. I notice it's worse on the drivers side, but that is expected.

If you have an aquapel do the front screen and the side glass and most water will go over the top. The amount that is left will shoot off the side very quickly. Also keep the A pillars very well waxed and it moves off quicker too :)

I do wonder if a small ridge designed into some pillar covers or just stuck on would solve the issue mind)
