Temp sensor coolant leak SDi

Featured Replies

Afternoon everyone,

I didnt realise I would need help this soon! My 2003 Fabia 1.9 SDi has developed a coolant leak from what i think is the temp sensor. It is located on the right side of the engine block (as you face the front of the car). There is a large plastic housing with two large hoses and one small hose going into it. I took it off this morning and the housing is in good nick but where the sensor goes into this housing coolant is leaking out of there. Has anyone else had this problem? theres also a plastic clip that holds the sensor in place, not sure how secure that is though.

Many thanks

Stu

The plastic clip's fairly secure and should compress an O-ring IIRC. Could be that the O-ring's perished?

ahhh that could be it as i dont actually recall there being any O-ring? is that positioned on the sensor itself and the clip secure round it? sorry for all the questions i'm just sure its something simple!

Anyone?

The O ring sits in top of he housing, or you could fit it over the metal part of the sensor first - same result either way.

Fantastic, it was that O-ring. 82p's worth of parts and its all fixed! cant beleive it! Many thanks everyone who helped!
