hi bought a fabia 02 1.4 8 valve,after a few weeks now it wont start the car is showing a key sighn on the dashboard when you start the car its not starting.Is there anybody out there who ca help thanks.

I am not in anyway an expert and this is purely a guess, but isnt the key sign to do with the key itself not being recognised?

The immobilizer is active.

Immobilizer fault or key needs coding.

If you have another key, try that.

thanks for the advice,have spare key tried that still wont start.I think the ecu needs reprogramming. if any body out there knows of any cheap garages in birmingham let me know. cheers

Almost certainly. I think there is a way of getting the ECU to recognise your key again, but I can't remember what it is - it might be in the manual!
