Got in car today and tried to drive off. Accelerator pedal very hard to press - tried pressing a little bit too hard and pedal broke off from floor. Found large stone underneath that was restricting movement and lots of plastic splinters!!

Ho Hum............... off to the dealers Mon mornin and yes you can just manage to drive with the pedal missing!! Wouldn't want to drive far though.

:( Nice moral tale on several levels. You might be able to make a jury-rigged hinge out of gaffa tape. That might make it marginally easier to drive.

Reminds me of the time I drove my Transporter van to the mechanic with string running the length of the van to the throttle on the open engine at the back. String stretches a lot; it was an interesting driving experience.
