Help fitting Carbonio

Featured Replies

Hi!

Just picked this up yesterday, and thought i'd give it ago fitting.

I've bumped into a problem and wondering if anyone could help? I've searched and found that its possible to fit the Carbonio WITHOUT removing the headlight or battery, which is proving very difficult for me at the mo :(

How do I get the air filter passed the battery? there are 2 annoying screws sticking out which I cannot remove these will not let the airfilter pass by. I tried squeeze it passed, but it was cutting into the airfilter pretty badly.

Any ideas? I was planing on removing the headlight which would make things alot easier, but I do not have any star keys :( I could remove the battery? but would need advise on this also please.

EDIT: If I could remove the battery outer tray thing it would make life alot easier!! and maybe I could squeeze passed.

Thanks, any help greatly appreciated.

You need to remove battery and tray. Took me half and hour to do mine.

Thanks for your advice Martziniuk! I've never removed a battery before, can you advise on how to do this? (i'm pure newb to anything mechanical with cars)

This is the only bolt I see holding the bat in place, time to get out the WD40!

Remove the top fuse box by squeezing the clips at the side and they then lift out and over the back of the battery.

Next undo the clamps on the terminals, positive side first. The battery should then lift out and you then remove the screws in the bottom of the try.

Might be a little wrong as i did mine about 6 months ago

Errr fit the filter from underneath..... remove smail plastic tray from inner arch/bumper area.... piece of cake to get filter on although you may have to move the horns

Phil

Would it fit from underneath with out a ramp?.

I removed the battery and tray, there are four screws holding the tray in. I then dropped the pipe through, removed the bottom panel and put the filter on then pulled pipe back up and fixed into place. I just bent the horn bracket up abit, the filter does touch it but not badly.

p.s mines an ebay one so maybe a little different :o

Thanks for the help today guys.

Fitted by removing the battery and tray, from then one it was easy as peanuts.

Hardest bit was I didnt know how to put back the battery and the plastics lol.

Took her out for a spin after a 10min idle, initially wasn't any difference, as soon as I planted my foot what a lovely sound :D

Very chuffed! Need to fit my DV now, will save that till next weekend lol.

Cheers guys!

Hi i fitted mine today,i took the battery out.didnt touch the headlight

I fitted it with the car on the floor with the wheels turned to the right, took the inner arch off and fed the carbon tube up through that way and then the filter itself and tighten

I let the car idle for 10mins also then took for a spin and i could notice a big difference TBH ,the sounds lush isnt it!

And like you i might have pop at fitting my bov next

nice one!

I did see your thread good stuff! it made me want to fit mine today! lol

Yeah once the battery and tray was removed there was plenty of room to work with. Definately a great first mod and once your foot hits the accelerator the sound is amazing, like Darth vader lol

Let me know how you get on with the dv, I'll let you go first lol

Age before beauty a....hang on that would mean..;)

It doesnt look too hard TBH i just want to know how to get them **** darstardly clips off:confused:

slide a flat srewdriver under the end of the clip and prise it up, clip should just pop off its hook. Replace with jubilee clips.

Cheers will give it a go next week maybe
