I have just replaced my SMIC with the Forge FMIC (b4stard to fit but now it on looks ACE:thumbup:)

When I was takin the old one off I noticed quite a bit of oil in the pipe work and in the IC(it ran out onto the drive 1.5" diam of both patches.)there was enough to smear all over all the bolts n screws. There was an aufull lot and am just wonderin if it is somethin to worry about?

the car has 48+K on the clock all by me and I have noticed oil in the pipes B4 when i swapped the DV and pipe plus the pipe to the manifold at about 42K(there wasnt as much as this time)

the car has had 2 Skoda Dealership services, first one they put the 0w 30 back in and the second about a yr ago they put 5W 40??? or 5W30 one or tuther.

the oil was lookin a bit dark and it is 6k off its next service(ish) so I took it upon myself to use the MT ramps and change the oil filter and oil.(0W 30)

I felt that the car ran better on 0W 30 so I put that oil back in, now I have this problem? if it is a problem?

What do you guys think?

ive jus read the first few lines and I think I know y skoda switched to a thicker oil?

so that there is not as much vapour there for less emitions?

if that is the fact then that could explain y the build up has got so much in the last few month.

my oil level hasnt gone down though????

Not to worry mate - oil in the FMIC is a "design feature" - "they all do that"

after a while wont it build up in the bottom of the FMIC?

Spose Ill have to drain it after 30-40K?

It ends up coating the throttle body and we all have to clean it off after a while to prevent the hesitation

my TB looks clean? or is it the side that you cant see that gets dirty?
