Cancelling insurance say 3 months in

Featured Replies

How do most insurance companies deal with this?

say you've not had a claim and want to cancel and go elsewhere how do most insurance companies do this?

Just ring up and cancel AFAIK. If you pay in installments, you may get some interest back, and if you pay upfront, you should get a pro rata refund. In both cases, some kind of admin fee will no doubt apply...

They can also be suspended for a whilst as well.

Most insurance company's will charge an admin fee for ANY alterations.

Have a read of their T&C's for charges they will make.

The way each company deals with cancelation varies.

If you pay by installments, depending on how the payments are loaded you may find you owe them money still.

There will be an admin fee, the amount will vary.

You also won't get it counting towards your no claims bonus

You may find you still owe money and/or wont get any refund until you return the certificate.

The car will also be flagged as uninsured straight away upon cancellation taking effect, so you will need insurance cover to start straight away.
