Hi newbie with VRS in Wiltshire

Featured Replies

Hi all

bought my 2001 red octavia VRS on saturday after a 5 hour train journey and a nice 4 hour drive home!

very pleased with it so far! got a few questions and not sure where i should put them!

its standard as far as i know, but it does have a pipe blocked off in engine bay, having a look someone said to me it shoudl go to the pcv system? and he;d seen people who have their cars remapped block this off to stop a common surging problem?

i need to take pic i guess but does this sound likely? in which case how can i tell if its had a remap? find someone with vagcom?

2nd - it has had a front caliper replaced and its def the same part but its silver not green. can i buy caliper paint just to make it match? or is it a paint them all job?

3rd the spare was a full size alloy which i was surprised, i thought it'd be a space saver. has anyone refurbed their alloys white? i think it'd look good but wouldnt mind a photoshop/pic first?

put on a couple of phone pics but need a good clean/clay/polish paint feels a bit rough at the moment.

welcome to briskoda, nice looking octy mate reminds me of the father in laws old one.
