vRS - power drop/flat spot 5000 rpm

Featured Replies

OK, I'm the proud and happy owner of an '06 VRS, apart from an intermittment flat-spot in 2nd, 3rd and 4th when accelerating hard. Sometimes very smooth, sometimes a hesitation, sometimes a very noticeable flat spot.

The dealer has already replaced one coil pack, now can;t find any errors and have filled out a DIS ( or something ) to Skoda who have suggested more checks tomorrow, however they seem to be drifting to calling it a feature or a characteristic. and as this is the case it's not a fault and therefore they won;t honour the 30-day exchange.

My take on this is that no engine should have a characteristic that can't gurantee power delivery.

Seems theres a few posts around on this one any similar experiences particularly around the characteristic

Sounds like a broken diverter valve to me from the symptoms being described.

It is quite a common thing so I would have thought a dealer would spot it.

:iagree: with Hedge, get the garage to check the DV for a split. Fuel cut is unlikely unless the car has been remapped.

I'll stick my neck out and agree as well.

Well worth having the DV checked.
