Spoiler for the Octy - Opinions

Featured Replies

Im looking to add a spoiler to my Octy 4x4 (silver) for the Cannonball. It currently has one of those really small spoilers on the lip of the boot.

Im pondering just how far to go, I want to change the looks from last year but want something thats not too silly !!

My present thought is to go for something like the WRC spoiler which is slightly larger than the RS but I have been offered a genuine Carbon Fibre boot spoiler at a very good price, OK its a tadge Max Power but has anyone seen anything larger than the WRC Spoiler on an Octy & what were your thoughts.

If I go the Carbon Route I intend to paint it to match the car to give a slightly more subtle look

Whatever I do can easily be un done post Cannonball to return to stealth mode !

Anyone got any thoughts or pictures of what they think looks good.

Stuart (& No Im not getting a Nova next)

Didn't Des or Jon have a piccie of a massive spoiler on their Octy at one point? It was a VERY VERY large carbon thing :D

Rispeed aluminium spoiler? :D

I doubt it'll use the original fixing positions though so returning to normal will be a bit more of a pain......all those holes to fill :thumbdwn:

mine looks good with a carbon GT wing but its not being fitted...

;)

but if bought again would go this route over wrc as is adjustable.....

Stuart, there will be a performance penalty (mpg, top speed and acceleration) if you fit a large wing. Is that really what you want?

Denis, Agreed there will be although I dont know how significant, the car pulled into the red in top before the new exhaust was fitted so I guess the few extra horsies that gives should offsewt any drag.

At present I am still favouring something like this http://www.riechert-racing.de/galerie/skoda/index2.php?carid=080 if only I could find out where the "heckin" spoiler can be obtained from in the UK

I guess that 'presence' is a consideration in the Cannonball when you are surrounded by high-priced machinery. I quite like that spoiler, Stuart.

I ordered one a few months back & have it sat in the garage as I am not 100% sure about putting it on - like has been mentioned before - abit max power I think.

i think with the correct styling the so called max power spoilers can realy make a diffrence to the look of the car...but big wing touring car ones are a NO NO ! that soiler its very similar to the big MG cars spoiler Z something i get mixed up with them all...

Joel

That spoiler is indeed the same as Paul has, from Buttco...
