Passed the MOT

With flying colours!! Even with the decat, it went through on fast pass for the emissions.

Anyhoo, mechanic said the fitting the cupra bushes is a sod, needing the subframe to be dropped (:eek:). I said I'd ask on here to see if anyone knows of a simpler way (that isn't going to cost as much in labour!)

Cheers in advance.

Nice One

You can fit them in-situ but you need a special tool.

Ahh, and I suppose said tool costs about as much as the labour would anyway.

This has been discussed in detail on here already - you might need to join Freedom to access this info. In short, there is a non-vag kit of bits available - but its initial cost might neutralise the labour cost savings. The thing is this and any other tooling that allows the bushes to be changed saves the cost of getting the four wheel alignment done. For the mechanic, as a one off, it probably would not make any sense - but if he got to like it and the kit worked as intended then he could make quite a lot of money using it.
