Which is the best music player for PC?

Featured Replies

Well I don't download music illegally, and have generally used iTunes in the past. However, I'm just curious if there is a bit of software that is perhaps more slick, but still compatible with iPod...?

Ta in advance. :)

I use Banshee - not sure if they do a version for windoze or Mac yet, but it has a really clear interface, runs quickly, and supports ipods.

Well when you say 'support iPod' - a PC music player doesn't need to surely? Unless you mean for uploading?

The best PC music player, bar none, is Foobar. It's small, quick, supports everything, customisable, plays nicely with games....

I use Anapod for iPod control, although I'm having problems with artwork support since the last iPod firmware update. Apart from that, it's faster, easier to use than iTunes, and you can copy music from the Pod to the PC which iTunes can't (and never will - they think this will stop piracy).

Winamp.

Tried foobar, didnt like it because it doesnt support streamcasts (which i do listen to alot of)

Winamp also supports Ipods.. and you can watch pr0n on streamcast TV

I use Windows Media Centre, works really well with the remote.

Used to be a big Winamp fan, but since Media Player 11, I've been using that. Not really sure why, but it does all I want it to. Think it was when I rebuilt a box, wanted to listen to MP3s but hadn't installed Winamp yet. And I never got round to it

I also use Media Centre within Vista Home Ultimate a bit, and VLC for video on the whole.

Quite happy with iTunes.

I just generally use i tunes, not really used any other.

Snap, great Ipod interface

I always use Winamp, can't comment on how well it works with an IPOD as I don't have one

I tend to use iTunes plus I have sharepod so I can transfer the files back off of the iPod as well.
