What made you go from a cupra to a Fabia then??

I'm not so sure on price but once you do get a good idea - Why not list the car up in the 'for sale section'. What are you looking at getting next?

I tought it would save on fuel and insurance but on working it out i am no better of.

The cupra cost me just under £400 quid to insure and this cost me £322

Its no better on petrol nither i got avrange of 33mpg-36mpg out of my reveo'd cupra with a smile. And i am only get about 38mpg and it pants and speed and power i thought it would have a bit of go in it but it does not.

If i have more then 3 people in it it takes ages to get upto 60mph and you fell like you have to flog it.

Only had it 2 weeks and it cost me £200 quid already new egr valve and a few other bits.

I'm sorry to doubt you but it seems that you rushed into changing your car without giving it alot of thought.

To be 100% Honest here is where I stand.

- I had a honda civic type R.. Crap MPG, Nice power, Great Fun, Insane Insurance and a really good buy. Times and other factors in my life now mean I have to put less money towards my car at the moment.

It took me a while to look for my new car a little clio 1.2 dynamic tbh - It's alot cheaper to run overall, 47 mph - (I'm not the slowest drivier around), FSH, Quick enough but nothing stupid and the main part is I managed to get a warranty package with it.

I would suggest that you don't just give up - Stick with your car and think about what you can do to improve it as it is. I mean - Could you change your driving style at all for the roads that your on? Would a Re-map make it any better?

I always make sure when I look at a new car I take a person with me. Just to ask all the stupid questions and to see how the car handles with another person and the salesman in.

I probably did and that's half the problem but i read the reviews and that before buying the car.

But i guess its not for me so i will flog it and chose my next car more wisely

To sell it on here you need to be a freedom member.

But an 02 car, prob loking at about £3k depending upon spec, condition etc..

The reviews on the 1.4 Fabia would have been comparing it to other similarly priced shopping trollies, and in it's day the mk1 Fabia was ground breaking and dare I say it, class leading. It needed to be to get punters into showrooms and raise Skodas image into the present Century. Also it was a development mule of sorts for the 9N Polo.

Coming from a hot hatch you'll find that there's more to them than just a slightly pokier engine. Suspension, brakes, gearing, tyres, interior embellishments etc etc are all improved and that's why they tend to be quite expensive.

If you really wanted to quickish hatch that was dirt cheap to run then something like a Clio dci dynamique may or may not fit the bill. Arosa/Lupo TDI or even 16v 1.4 not bad either. I'm sure there will be plenty of other suggestions on here.

It depends on how you drive it too.

My Felly is in no way a hot hatch. It's no slouch either even though its not back to seat acceleration. Plus its delivering above 40mpg, my sisters Micra 1.0 is delivering 44mpg at the moment.

It takes time to get used to the cars quirks.

Lets be honest here, the lower powered 1.4 was crap, slow and economy was rubbish. My ex-gf had one and when she replaced it with a 1.2 Sport, she found the 1.2 quicker and much more economical, even getting up to 50mpg!

In the grand scheme of things, the 1.2 is still slow. I went from a Fabia vRS to the 1.2 Sport and I found the same as you, it was too slow and I missed the performance. So I chopped it in for a 1.5 Swift, which was much more like it!

This is getting more like 'I want to sell my car' type thread and to do so you have to have Freedom membership of the site. Therefore.................
