Firefox 3. How is it?

Featured Replies

Hi to All

Just wondering how Firefox 3 is settling in. Anyone here had issues with it? Better or worse in any way than version 2?

Chris

No issues from me - I haven't really noticed a difference to be honest.

Except folders don't display quite correctly on my webmail (with 1&1 internet)

Same here.....No difference really.

I loaded Firefox 3 on the works laptops and they did not even know it had changed

Thought I would try it on the other half's machine first. Seems to work fine, the previous settings have carried over fine including some advanced user settings that speeded the whole thing up. dicshunarry wurcs fine too.

Sofarsogood.

No issues here either. Not noticed anything massively revolutionary though, I have to say. Good that all my add-ons work.

Still not any less RAM/CPU intensive than v2 though, which is annoying. Seems the old leaks are still there

That said, I wouldn't use anything else nowadays :)

It's a little quicker and some things are tidier: the 'remember password' dialog is now a bar that fades in from the top, and the page carries on loading. Some of the other dialogs are nicer to use too.

Overall: A bit nicer, a bit quicker. evolutionary rather than revolutionary.

Seems pretty good. I would say minor enhancements and it looks a little more "XP like". Seems to have the hard drive a little busier than the V2, but that may be my imagination.

Bit more 'shiny'.

BBC flash videos don't crash it as much as FF2.

Once all my extensions are FF3 compatible I'll be happy. No real issues to report.

Mine seems to crash a lot, "Mozilla Firefox is not responding" or "Mozilla Firefox has stopped working and needs to close"

It seems to be on the increase as well, usually when used in conjunction with WMP, iTunes, or the foxy tunes app.

Annoying!

Not had any trouble with FF3. More than happy with it, also does seem to use less resources than FF2.
