What is the easiest way to remove glove compartment in Octavia 1999 (facelift) the part which slides down. I want to install some wiring there, so I need it removed. Is it tricky

Nope, not difficult at all. I had to remove it when fitting my iPod to the car. There are some torx bolts underneath which need to be removed, as do the screws which IIRC are inside the box. Basically pull out all the torx bolts and the box will simply drop out.

I think you have to remember to disconnect the light before you finally pull the glove box off.

Yeah there are 5-6 of them holding it on, as said remember to disconnect the light cable then your sorted. Had mine out not long ago, looks like this.
