Insurance Quandary...

Featured Replies

So I pick up my vRS on Saturday :D well my dad will drive it back home for me.

If I wait until September, where I will have had my full license for 3 years, the insurance decreases by around £400.

Do I:

a) Wait until then before I change my insurance over from my current car to the vRS

B) Ring up the insurance and literally beg them to see if they will match the September price now.

C) Pay the extra premium and enjoy vRS power from Saturday.

Your opinions will be welcomed :D I'm leaning towards B) for obvious reasons... does anyone know if it'll work?!

If you keep at home, it must be kept offroad without any insurance on it. Also keep in mind that if stolen you wont get anything except a big dent in your wallet. I would go for option B and see what happens.

Is your father going to drive the car home for you using his third party cover to drive other cars? That could be expensive for you if your car is involved in an accident enroute. I too would go for Option B with C as the fall back position.

He's getting fully comp cover for the day so no worries with regards to that. I'm gonna ring up my insurance company tomorrow morning and hope for the best!

If the car's on finance, then many finance contracts stipulate the car must be insured fully comp until the finance is settled.

With VRS's being stolen to order, and even by force (breaking in to your bedroom in the middle of the night), I wouldnt risk NOT having insurance!

You could get garage/driveway insurance to cover for theft if you don't insure it for road use.
