According to the Skoda website, this option provides steering wheel control for the radio only whilst the owner's manual depicts it including hands free telephone control.

The UK website shows it with audio control only - yet the owners manual shows it with HFT function together with user instructions.

Certainly not listed in the accessory list for UK spec. - so why show it in the UK owners manual - rather misleading or are we missing something?

I dont think you are missing anything, the UK manual is just a translation from Czech. All the images are the same in all versions of the manual.

So the optional factory fitted and Skoda named "Steering Wheel Multifunctional Module" for UK cars is not "multifunctional" at all - it only controls the radio.

The module incorporating HFT as well as radio control shown in irfant's picture appears to be available in certain countries only. Has anyone had this supplied on a UK car or indeed can it be fitted as as dealer fit item ?

This being a factory fit option for UK cars on all model designations, it seems rather strange that Skoda choose only to offer the steering wheel module radio control and not the radio and phone combined one - strange!

The microphone slots appear in the front interior light unit but is the microphone actually fitted or is it just left blank on UK bound cars?

The microphone slot will have nothing behind it, just like on my OctyII.

Makes you wonder who at Skoda, in their wisdom, actually makes the decision to have the steering wheel controlled radio only remote as a factory fit option but not even offer the combined radio & HFT option with UK cars. (albeit this is available in some other countries)

Just to rub 'salt in the wound' there are no fewer than eleven pages referring to hands free mobile phone/voice activation in the UK Owner's Manual!

A very strange decision that appears to defy any logic.
