Superb: design story

Just a design rendering in the process? Or...

Anyone else notice how much more fluid the early sketches & renderings look than the final product?

Understand why they felt they needed to do it. Yet would have looked allot sexier had they been able to stay more true!!!

I saw the original design sketches also, and you are quite right, the original design was far mor pleasing to the eye. I wonder how much of the original design was held back by Volkswagen/Audi so as not to compete with their model ranges. SEAT have some interesting designs and also have a higher profile for "Sports" orientated products in my opinion. I know Skoda have the VRS range but there does not seem to be the emphasis as the other marques have in the VW Family. Any comments?

It's probably all to do with safety, I'd imagine...

Although there's a whiff of the Jag XF there!

Maybe I've been misunderstood. I was referring to the C pillar & how they ruined the SuperbII's excellent lines by giving it class leading rear head room!!! Of course the sketches & renderings look much better than the final product that's the way it always seems to go. Yet I 'd hoped they could've kept the essence in the final production...

P.S. The 1st shot was a reference to a possible SuperbII-Kombi.

We get that at uni too, we design something really nice and sleek, then when it actually comes to fitting in people and packaging the thing ie how someone wont knock their head on the door opening, and stuff... it loses the dynamic look a little. depending on what the market is. blah but yeah it could of been alot sleeker! a well. maybe on the next one please:P

Well I would have the Superb Combi if they ever made it. Anyway I am having the Superb 2 in the meantime:)
