right, if you see a year old car on the forcourt with a load of swirls on the paintwork...is it worth mentioning to bring the price down or ask them to sort it?

I mean if it was me buying a car i'd want a mint conditioned one.

or would they say well its done 15k so deal with it?

When I get my cars - I always tend to mention all the problems I see. The dealership will always say 'Oh we will correct that for you sir - Not a problem'. It's just when you then have to leave picking the car up untill another day due to the work being done (That's when it's a pain).

You don't need a reason to ask them to knock the price down - just tell them you don't want to pay as much as they are asking!

Be cheeky - very cheeky. And don't take their first answer (or their 2nd, 3rd and 4th answers).

But in answer to your question - I guess it does help your cause if you can give specific reasons for a reduction. Personally, I would want the cash to sort it myself with a professional detailer or a friend with a Porter Cable / Megs G220 / UDM etc.

I suspect the garage's own valeter may have a go at trying to mask the defect, but paint correction is beyond many of them

Rob- i dont know yet. i seen a few im asking in advance! Im pretty anal when it comes to the condition - im as bad in a phone shop if they demonstraight it i dont want them peeling all the screen protector things off before i do! ITS MINE! :P
