Dogbone mount? Urgent advice needed..

Featured Replies

Sorry this is all a bit last minute, but i suspect the bushes in the "dogbone" gearbox mounting have given up the ghost.

Since i had the car remapped (110 tdi elegance) ive been getting a deep vibration under hard acceleration from low revs, especially in 4th gear. Anyway on the way to work today, its gotten noticably worse, and the reason for the urgent thing is were off to the Nurburgring on Saturday morning!!!

The question is, do i have to replace the whole thing? ir are the bushes available seperatly, and is it a simple enough job to do at home?

Thanks, Matt!

You can get powerflex bushes, but std you buy the whole thing.

I'm assuming the standard item is just a bolt off bolt on item?

Is it a motor factor item?

Why not do as lummox says and get powerflex bushes? I'd do that quick and assess it, because it's a good upgrade and if you continue to have any vibration or issues it may be your DMF can't take the power and you want to catch that in time before it potentially takes out the gearbox.

It's an issue with remapped diesels, is the DMF & clutch.

Greg.

Sure it's the dogbone, and not a broken centre mount?

Almost certain, when we were changing the wishbone bushes for the TT ones, i noticed it felt very loose and mobile.

If it isnt that one, i reckon its passed its best anyway and needs changing?
