Oil coolers

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I was wondering, i am wanting to uprate my engine, performance chip, re-mapping port and polish and so forth....As its only a 1.4 16v is it practical to fit an oil cooler, and if ifitted one without mods would it do any damage? Thanks andy, proud furby owner.

Unless your planning on doing track work its not really required.

Andy, if you want more power, change your car :)

Nice as the 1.4 is, it will never set the world alight ;)

thanks all, wanting to keep the 1.4, rather attahed to it

If you want a faster 1.4, are you prepared to strip out lumps of the interior, cos the best and cheapest way of making them faster is to make them lighter.

lightening would be best as it really would cost a lot for negligible increases in performance from the engine. considered a 1.8t conversion if your attached to the car?

otherwise no point in oil cooler but lightened flywheel decent plugs and leads, tank of redex and a good service will provide similar levels of increase.
