Octy vRS - Seat Care

Featured Replies

Hey all...just a quickie. How often do you guys treat the leather on the seats, and what is the best supplement to use?

Also, has anyone tried Halfords leather wipes? They claim to clean and nourish...are they any good?

Cheers

In my year of ownership... not once treated.

I have used the autoglym leather care stuff, just dont get it on the white bit, its really difiicult to get off. When applied it leaves the surface shiney till its absorbed into the leather. Only really needs doing every now and again to stop the leather drying out.

Cheers guys...do you also use the same stuff on the wheel and gearstick Manny?

I have used it on everything leather in the car, including the wheel and gearknob, and the handbrake lever. I wouldnt drive it till its all absorbed in though.

How does everyone clean the light parts of the seats? My driver seat is looking decidedly grubby through normal wear.

Cheers

Steve

I don't clean the leather with 'owt. Just give it a wipe down now and again.

Steve, To clean the white seat inserts I use a product called 'Instant Valay'. You spray it on then wipe the foam off after a minute with a damp cloth. Works really well on the seats and carpet and is easy to apply. Also is cheap as chips and smells quite nice too.... I think I got acouple of cans from the local Supermarket.

I dig out the cheap and cheerful steam cleaner i bought.

Works a treat, although the seats r wet for about a day!!!
