servicing help please

Featured Replies

for the 3yr warrantly to be valid has the car got to be serviced at a skoda dealer? thanks

Hi

No as long as it is a VAT registerd garage , use OEM or equivalant parts and stick to the service scedual , any garage can service your car

This is down to block exemption , think it was around november 2000

But watch someone tell me dofferently ;)

So you are OK

Sarah

Awesome you're right there.

If the car has been serviced regularly and maintained with OEM parts then Skoda or any other manufacturer should honour the warranty.

Always read the small print though.

Can't remember if Ford were arguing/advised against any flushing fluids in a service on modern engines especially during warranty periods. Was in Car Mechanics magazine I think.

I get mine serviced at an independant. The only thing that some independants may struggle with on newer cars is the fault computer but the people I use have contacts in the trade to do all that. But my Felicia has no such gizmos, bar the Airbag!!

Some may not have stamps for the service book so always keep a record too and receipts for parts.

My local Skoda dealer sells parts at a good price and very friendly chaps too :D

ok tvm.

Sorry to go off-topic... but I just bought my car and it's a month out of warrenty. Do you think there's any chance I could buy the extended one? Or get any niggles fixed by the dealer?
