PD160 intake mod question for the PD100.

Featured Replies

I have been looking at improving the air intake on my TDI PD100 for some time now and have just noticed that green filters have reduced the cost of the filter from £42 to £35. Dont get cought out by paying the £42 for the PD100 filter though because it is the same one as the PD130 which is the one they have reduced to £35 (cheeky buggers). I have read that in some cases fitting the PD160 intake on a VRS and a better filter can increase BHP by around 10. Has anyone ever fitted the PD160 intake to a PD100 Fabia? If so has it made any difference? I was wondering if it made a 10BHP difference on the VRS if it would do the same on the PD100 upping it to around 105 or 110 BHP?

Hi

I have one on my car

100PD comfort

I would not be able to say if it was 10BHP , I doubt it , but the throttle response was ALOT better

I have mine remapped and it is up to 141BHP that is just with the PD160 , Pipercross filter and the remap

I got quite a bit more fuel economy out of mine too with the filter and PD160 , approx 4MPG

But with a map for economy too , I see over 60MPG

This morning 64.2MPG on the drive in to work

I hope that helps?

But in my opinion , yes it is good , but shame on Seat for increasing the prices

Yes it's been done, however it won't make a 10bhp difference on the VRS or anything else it's fitted too. The increase in power would be negligable maybe 1-2 if your testing it. What it does do is allow the enginer to breath a little easier reducing the smoke (Unburnt fuel) and it's a very good mod if you have had a remap for just that. It can make it a little smoother and a little more responsive, but 10 bhp.... nah.

I thought Awesome were looking at producing a PD160 intake pipe?
