looking to buy a fabia vRS

Featured Replies

Hi, i'm new to the site. Have recently started looking at getting a fabia vrs, I have always been slightly wary of diesel engines but I really like this car. And was wondering what it sounded like to run as lots of people seem to have resorted to soundproofing the engine. If i do get one i'm looking at modding the exhaust, will i have to approach it differently as its a diesel in order to get a decent exhaust note? ta

Hello there and welcome to the site.

A lot of the answers can be found by searching.

However, I have a de-catted exhaust and 2.5" catback system, with a smaller backbox, custom made by Prospeed in Cardiff.

It makes a lovely rumble around town at around 1800rpm, quitens down nicely between 2k and 2.5k for cruising, then when booting it from 3k to around 4-4.5k it sounds VERY VERY good. Very deep and fairly loud, not raspy and chavvy, makes you forget you are driving a diesel until you realise its time to change up

You cant really change the engine note, a BMC enclosed filter might help, but it will always have the diesel chug.

The exhaust can be made to sound great though.

Hope that helps.
