how to replace skoda felicia Strut Top Mounted, Front

jack up car

remove relevant wheel

remove top strut brace from engine compartment

undo shock top nut

remove inverse cup from top mount (the one just under the top nut)

refit nut onto shaft and get it all the way down to a small torque (you will need to be able to undo this later) - THIS IS VERY IMPOTANT TO KEEP THE SPRING COMPRESSED AND SAFE WHEN YOU REOVE ThE WHOLE ASSEMBLY

undo pich bolt on hub carrier at bottom of shock

now if you push the suspension arm downward you should have enought clearance to remove the entire shock / spring assembly in one go. then you can change the upper bushes.

simply refit in reverse!
