Blue light on dashboard

Featured Replies

Hi,

Got myself a new Roomster Scout 1.9Tdi. All is well other than the radiator/water temp light staying on after i drive off first thing in the morning. Unlike when you turn the ignition on and it goes through its check where the colour is red - it's blue, it goes off when the car reaches working temperature (about 5 minutes). checked the water level, all seems well, no overheating etc. Am I worrying about nothing, just seems odd to have a light on on the dashboard for such a long time

If the car does not have Maxi-Dot and therefore no analogue fuel guage, that light will illuminate to tell you that the coolant tempreature is low. My Hyundai Getz was just the same, just have to wait for it to go out before high revs/ engine loads e.t.c

In a way thats a good system, but still prefer a gauge.

In my car (trim 1) there is only red warning light for coolant temp.

This is the dashboard with blue warning light, I guess blue is OK...

I would hazard a guess it just means the coolant is still cold (or at least below normal working temperature).

have you looked in the owners handbook?

Could it be the old black-top / green-top temp sensor issue that was on the Octavia ?

Suggest you post in the Ask a Tech section, just to be on the safe side.

Prob. just to say the coolant is cold (Honda Jazz has this light) best look in the handbook Eh?

Many thanks all,

You've calmed my nerves as i'm just about to take a grand tour of France and had fears of stuff happening.

By the way just out of a Fiat Multipla (which I loved for all its fiatness) My Roomster is the closest i'm going to get to something that actually has some style and a little substance, it's still no Multipla, but the love may grow...

I'll get back to you
