Furby vRS stock speakers

Featured Replies

I believe the furby vRS has 8 speaks? what sort of quality are these, I'm wanting to put either a 9830r or 9831r Alpine head unit in about a week after taking delivery of my new car but will the stock speakers sound ok? I'm not talking taking it to shows I'm just wanting a nice sounding system.

I thought the speakers were very bad in the Fabia.

Until I fitted a new headunit, the main problem is the naff weedy amp in the std headunit not really the speakers. Ive fitted a Pioneer MP3 player, and though im sure uprated speakers would sound alot better for a start the headunit upgrade is the best move.

Head unit is ok, nothing special, but no worse than any other car in this class. i find the speakers just too top based, especially the rear door tweeters.

The Fabia vRS has 8 speakers....

mids and tweeters in the front doors, tweeters in the rear doors and weedy mids on the sides of the parcel shelf at the back.

Changing the headunit will make a HUGE difference in sound quality.. the stock speakers are actually really good and will take a bit of hammering.

as ajplatt mentioned it can sound too top based, but i blame that on the rear tweeters which are about 6 inches away from your head, i have the treble tuned down a bit on my headunit, sounds much better.

Stock speakers are pretty good. A decent head unit would be the first port of call imho too :)

well suppose its down to if you class tweeters as speakers, I'll probably get it booked in the week after I get it if the sounds good enough then I won't bother changing the speakers as well. Mind you this is all down to me getting a loan from the bank if not it means skoda finance and I'll be more hard up if I take that route

The standard speakers are pretty good the only problem being were the rear tweeters are. I tend to fade the sound towards to front of the car. I find that helps. As everyone else has said, its just the head unit that lets the system down.

The front speakers are 13cm (but you can use 17cm) The rears are 10cm I think.

I think I've blown one of mine, not sure if it's been like it from new though? I just seem to be gettin a scratching noise coming from passenger side front speaker (I think). Do you think I could get this done on warrenty? Or would it be better if I just upgraded now?

I don't know much when it come to ICE

No harm in trying to get the speaker replaced under warrenty.

John, if that's a no go could I bug you for some advice on changing the speakers? I'm not totally useless but some help and advice would be very much appreciated

Cheers

Mike

Another common problem seems to be a rattle in the front doors, mine did it from new, now even more since i replaced my HU.

Ive also managed to blow my drivers side woofer... tho i dont think ill get it done under warranty...

just need someone to possibly make me some new speaker mounts in exchange for a few beers (Xavier, John J- you listening) ;)

i cant make them myself as i have no tools or a garage :(

I've noticed a rattle coming from the passenger side. Not sure if its the glovebox or the door. Thinking more the door.

Mates just bought a router with a funky tool to cut circles. Much better than a jig. I'm sure I could rake something together.
