no point beating around the bush so here goes...

is it possible to get the ABS system to tell the car speedo on the dash how fast the car is going instead of using the gearbox sender?

the mk5 golf seems to as there is no speedo sensor actually on it.

i have a octavia mk1 vrs by the way.

I thought the ABS was the way it told the speed? :confused:

Of course, this is for the fabia anyway - It uses a rear ABS sender - might be different for the octy.

no seriously, iam trying to put a mk5 golf 6 speed gear box in my octy but there is no speed sensor on the top of it. so assuming it runs from the abs on the mk5 could i adapt what i have to suit?

Your right there is no speed sensor on it, but as far as I am aware the mounting point is also different on the end as is the dog bone mounting.

Not to mention the MK5 6 speed box is carp and keeps ****ting the end bearing.

ok then well thats sort of decided it then.

i will get shot of it then. i didnt realise they were carp!!!!
