Fitting my Tevion cd player in to my Fabia

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

When I recently bought my 51 plate Fabia it still had the old cassette player intact - not a problem I thought as I still have my Tevion cd player from my last car. Anyway, I managed to remove the cassette player and wire up the Tevion, all working fine however it doesn't sit flush with the dash. I've got the fascia adaptor so that's okay, it's just the head unit itself seems to sit too far forward. I've managed to get the wiring pressed back as far as poss but I'm not sure if it the plastic cradle that everything sits in which isn't deep enough, any suggestions would be appreciated. The head unit is a standard size, am I just missing something obvious?

Cheers guys,

GM

Mine did it as well, I found there wasnt enough room behind the cd player and it kept pushing the cage back out - there isnt really anywhere to bend the brackets on cage either.

In the end I got a hacksaw and removed the plastic membrane crap behind the cd player - now I can fit everything behind their inlcuding all the wiring for an external sub and amplifier

I'm reckoning it'll be a hacksaw job then - I don't suppose there's any real reason to have the extra plastic caging at the back of the dash behind the stereo compartment anyway.

Not for an aftermarket Cd Player no. If you plan to refit the original however I dont know...

I used a junior hacksaw and elbow grease.
