A friend told me that it might be a problem with the climatronic... I read the forums about the leaky doors and I saw that the problem is with the back doors not with the front... so I'm thinking that I don't have a leaky door...

Can it be a climatronic problem?

thanks

The problem is mostly the rear doors, but can happen with the fronts too. But you say 'Climatronic' which suggests you have an Octavia not a Fabia. I don't know whether they suffer from the Fabia's problems, but I do know the Superb suffers from leaks into the passenger footwell through the pollen filter because of blocked drains...???

I have an Octi, next week-end I'll try to fix this problem... I think that there's something wrong with the draining of the cooling system... I'll check it nex week-end and I'll tell you what was the problem. Thanks

If you have an Octy MK I and the doors are leaking check that the front door membranes are intact.

Often they are cut to allow the fitting of after market speakers, which in turn means the doors leak flooding your foot wells.

The A/C drain is IIRC under the passenger seat (RHD car) so if you turn the a/c on full and leave the car parked up you should see a puddle forming around there under the car.

I'll check in week end, thank you :)

having worked on mine, it could be (on drivers side) the grommit from the bonnet release cable not being in place, and letting water drip from the scuttle area into the drivers side, check by removing scuttle tray and looking then refitting/sealing as required, or aircon drain (out of heater box) passenger side in dash leaking back into the car, or seal for pollen filter (in scuttle area passenger side) but again this leaks into the passenger footwell not the drivers. Or door seals as mentioned (if speakers have been changed in front doors).

Yep we have the same problem with the Leon and its been covered loads of times and theres a guide on seatcupra.net.

Many Skoda owners are experiencing the wet carpet problem. I have two Octavia's bot having the same problem when it rains.
Other Skoda owner I know have the same problem.
I have been searching on the web for people discussing this issue. Did a search here and found this thread.

On youtube there are videos on how some owners tackle the problem.
I asked an authorized Skoda dealer if there were any known factory recalls or service bulletins on this issue.
No recalls or bulleting was the answer.
But the dealers know about the problem and have been fixing it like the DIY owners in the youtube videos.

The problem is the seal between the door frame and the door carrier (the plate that is riveted to the door frame).

Applying a sealant round the edges of the door carrier will cure this problem looks like.
Quicker than drilling out the rivets just to be able to apply the adhesive between.

Here is a video I found

If you know about discussions about this problem please let me know.

The seal installed by the factory is faulty, they should be applying adhesive in the first place.

Should Skoda be responsible for the repairs? Why are there no recalls.
Many owners are spending money at repair shops for one type of fix or another. Some not resolving the problem.
DIY owners are spending time on this repair and having to buy adhesive.
