No, it will just depend on how long the tech looks at it during the day, i have had cars in for 2 days before ans only got charged 4 hours labour.

As said it would depend on how long he is clocked onto the job. Also most places I have worked at will quote an hours labour for example for diagnosis work. At the end of that hour they will contact the customer with either arequest to spend more time on it or a solution to the problem with a costing of how much to put it right.

I usually have a diagnostic charge and then discount it off the repair work should the customer go ahead with the repair with us. Or if its something simple just do it anyhow and check its ok then charge the diagnostic time. Having said that if we quote an hour and I find the fault in half an hour I will just charge that.

£13.75 for a litre of 505.01 vRS oil. Sparshatts of Fareham.

How's that for main dealer charges?

If you've asked them to check out that crankshaft rumble it will be in longer than an hour. If you just want your wiper blades replaced you should escape with change out of £200.00.:D

What's it booked in for?

About right for a main dealer mark up on oil.

About right for a main dealer mark up on oil.

Yup, comes in at somewhere near the £60 odd mark on the service receipt.

Plus, the PD oil is supposedly good stuff as it has to deal with higher pressures around the injector cams etc, (I think), so it will be more expensive for the good stuff.

hi

Its in for the power steering problem this will be the third time so far have had new pump in Jan under warranty then new battery in april as they said thats what it was and now back in again with same fault plus air con not working.

:confused:mike

Well, that's all free, innit?

Ask them for 5 litres of oil for your trouble, then put it on Ebay. :-)

Hi

Update Robinsons have rung me to inform me that i need another new power steering pump but as a good well gesture Skoda will pay half the cost of the new part leaving me with a bill of £500.00 which i think is a bloody cheek considering the pump is only 6 months old but as stated before was only covered as long as the car was in warranty which was all of 2 months. Then to top it all the air con needs 2 new seals where it goes through the bulk head which will cost me another £200.00 but worst still the other half is giving me so much grief that she let me talk her in to getting a VRS and not a proper car!!!.Last bloody Skoda we ever own was her main comment. Will shop round and see if i can get a better deal .

A vRS is a proper car, it's mechanically the same as any other Fabia, just looks different and goes better...

I'd shop around, could you get it done at an independent at all cheaper?

Was the pump replaced at all? as you say 6 months old, I thought that replacement parts had a 12 month warranty on them? My new turbo has and my car is 4 years old.

Hi

If you have a part replaced under warranty it is only covered as long as the warranty on the car lasted seems pretty stupid to me.
