focus tdci 1.8

Do you guys know where the best place to have this remapped

thanks

Not sure I'd bother with a TDDI personally it's it's an old and underpowered engine.

The TDCI remaps well and superchips do a good map for it.

if you've already got car, a Bluefin seems to pep things nicely (given where it's starting from) and word has it that the TDCi in a mk1 Focus isn't all that tunable after a remap either

try vagtronics in tunstall, just by city cabs,

tell them rob sent you in the silver fabia,

their tel is - 07973412446

Torque of the Devil - Ford specialist I think or try FFOC :: Ford Focus Owners Club, not sure as Cheezemonhai said it's a old engine the tddi so not sure what sort of power you would get out of them, but a bluefin might work on them.

I don't know word has it ;) that as long as you map around the flywheel the 115bhp TDCI remaps very well.

TDCI does remap quite well I know one of my mates has up to 130bhp rolling roaded at dastek in fife, just put a straight through exhaust system IIRC.

but they're nothing like as tunable as something like the PD engines(?) - according to people that have tried, once you go beyond a remap you're looking at standalone management etc :thumbdwn: but this is (possibly) just the TDCi in a mk1 Fcous rather than the 130bhp 2.0 TDCi etc you find elswhere

The 2.0 TDCI is a PSA HDI unit, so should be quite tunable.

The TDCI in a MK I was IMHO great after a remap and we never looked any further so I'll go with what you're saying here :)

The PD's are tunable, but I don't think the CR TDI will be anywhere near as tunable for the same reason the other common rail engines are not.

I am not bothered about a great gain and wont be doing much more tuning to it as it is just a work horse.

Just want a little more grunt when you put ya foot down

Well like i say I don't really think you will get too far with the TDDI, but it will be something and I'd try superchips (they make blufin too)

TDDI is direct injection but not common rail ISTR. So you won't quite get either the performance or economy of the CR or PD units.

I'm not an expert but I think it should be possible to improve matters given a little research on t'interweb. Issues may be I don't think they sold very many TDDI badged cars in the UK.

Things that will work (to a greater or lesser degree). Bigger tubro/intercooler, panel filter, decat(if it's got one), bigger exhaust...

Just a remap or tuning box will work, it's just that you probably won't get quite as much bang for your buck as the TDDI wasn't exactly super popular.

The old Non PD TDI's remapped v well too.
