Lower grille loose

Featured Replies

The lower grill on my Superb has come loose, but I cannot work out how it should stay in place.

The back of the opening in the bumper has teeth all the way round but when I push the grill onto these it just falls off. Should there be some clips or something that has gone missing?

I hit a bird with mine and popped it out, its a right "B" to get back in, you have to pull it really hard all the way round and it will eventually pop back in, Hope that helps. BryanP

So I needed more determination! Maybe I wasn't brave enough to give it beans.

I'll give that a go tonight. Thanks.

Once you have it lined up with all the teeth, one final hard squeeze every couple of inches gives a little click, then the whole thing is in place firmly - until the next hard landing over the speed mountains we have round here. God only knows how Baker 21 gets away with it!

By coincidence, I've just had the RH small lower grill out on my Superb - I needed to get at the towing eye in order to pull something out of a hole (off the road).

It clips in as others have described - it helps if you clip the top in first. I didn't want to risk breaking the flimsy plastic latches, so I gave each one a smear of silicone grease (which won't wash off) before replacing it.

It then snapped back into place very easily indeed.

Roto, is this the one that hides some air con pipework and on the LH side hides the intercooler?

A top tip, anyway, thank you. What will we do when you go jap?

all this snapping together of
