Nasty moment!

Featured Replies

Heading home from the motorbike club last night, me n the missus decided to go a wee run in the car. So, off we headed along one of the many long straight roads up here. So (as you do) i opened the wee furby up a "little" and off she went, going great. Starting to slow down i hit a small bump in the road (well more like a dip) and i lost all power!!!!!!! PPPPPAAAANNNNIIIIIICCCCCCC!!!!!!

Limped home an opend the bonnet, fearing the worst. Couldn't see anything wrong at first, but on closer inspection i saw the hard plastic boost hose had sperated from the rubber hoses, which had also seperated from the egr. Was only a couple of mm gap but obviously enough to stop boost.

30mins later @ 11pm last night and she was back on the road, running better and smoother than ever!

If i hadnt been a member on here, that easy job would have probably cost me a small fortune to fix as i would have had NO idea what caused it.

Pointless thread really but a good way of thanking people on here that have put really useful info up for us all to read and learn from!

It's not pointless mate, glad everything is ok mate.

Yup - glad it's all sorted! :)

Totally agree it's not pointless. I reckon these forums can be so informative and when they help someone like you, great, it's worked. Great to hear you fixed it so quickly and without cost.

In no way a pointless thread mate, it's good to see that this site can be of help to people and save money and that people who know or have had it happen to them can give advice.

I have saved money for sure while a member on here.

Ever since I joined this forum and purchased the vRS I have had nothing but help from members on here, my latest bit of advice was one of my rubber hoses was chaffing on the pd160 trumpet and I was told to cable tie it away from the trumpet which I will be doing this weekend
