Engine bay clean

Featured Replies

Well last night I decided to try and give my engine bay a clean for the first time.

So armed with a spray bottle filled with water, AG engine degreaser, AG Vinyle and Rubber Care and a tooth brush this is what I managed.

Found it tricky using a tooth brush as their was loads of places I couldnt get at but still I impressed myself for my first attempt. Think I'll give it another go in a couple of weeks. Need to spend more time around the radiator section.

massive difference, if you do it every so often you will stay on top of it :-)

Nice.What a transformation:thumbup:

Need to do mine.

I also use autoglym engine degreaser - I spray it on then rub it all in with a with a stiff paint brush.

I then jet wash it after its soaked in and have another go with the brush, then another final jet wash.

Then I dress all the black bits with autoglym rubber care - the green stuff in a bottle.

Also, if you get some fine wet n dry, and a tube of autosol, you can get those metal tubes across the front of the cam cover up to a nice mirror polish with some elbow grease

Looks nice, I'll add that to the list of things you can help me clean when I fetch my car over to yours ;):D

what do you guys do to the paintwork in the engine bay after covering it in APC/degreaser and stripping all the wax?
