Electrical problem skoda octavia 1.9tdi

Featured Replies

Hi folks

im new to this site and am wondering if anyone has experienced the same problems i have started to.

I have a skoda octavia elegance 1.9tdi 2001. Whilst coming back from the airport the glowplug light started to flash. Moments later the battery charge indicator light along with the abs and traction control and airbab lights came on. The radio went off and also the air con display. The engine also made a really tinny sound.

After stalling the car i was unable to turn the engine back on as there was no charge in the battery whatsoever.

After getting some jump leads the engine started with no problems and no warning lights came on. However, after a short drive the same problems happened again along with the tinny sound to the engine.

Has anyone experienced the same problems and what was the problem?

I'm living in Spain and and can;'t get anyone to look at it for another 5 days.

I was wondering if it could poss be the alternator or at worst the ECU.

Any ideas folks?

Sounds like the alternator isnt charging at a guess, I would look into that first.
