I did my periodic code check and this came up.

16395 - Bank 1: Camshaft A (Intake): Retard Setpoint not Reached (Over-Advanced)

P0011 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

Any ideas?

Clear it down and see what happens.

As long as you havent run low on oil, or had a cambelt done recently then I wouldn't worry to much.

Thanks Ross i will see what happens, i read that possible causes could be timing chain adjuster is weak. The car had a new cylinder head,timing belt and cam chain adjuster 30k ago so it can't be this surely.

Anybody know where the sensor is located for this fault? i wonder if i knocked something replacing the pipes under the inlet manifold and the one that goes up the side of the cylinder head.

I've not noticed any change in performance tbh, Just wondered what the hell caused it.

This code sometimes pops up when starting the car after an oil change, as it takes some time for the pressure to build up.

Low oil pressure is one cause of this fault.

Thanks, oil pump was also changed 3 months ago when timing belt snapped. I have noticed the engine does sound a little noisier than other vrs's i have heard. Maybe i need an oil change its nearly 10k since last?
