Best PC component online supplier.. recommend any except ebuyer!!

When I wanted a new PC recently, I ended up with a Dell from Tesco, funnily enough. A good price, and excellent delivery.

In the past, I've used:

Misco - used to be REALLY expensive, but I've recently bought quite a bit of personal and a lot of work stuff from them. Don't pay for expensive delivery - their cheapest delivery rate is turning up the following day!

Scan - delivery has been expensive. Only problem is once they delivered twice the memory I ordered but they insisted they don't make mistakes.

Aria - haven't found them very cheap lately.

CCLOnline - limited range - not cheap lately so not used them for a while.

OverClockers - not bought much but can be quite cheap and good for better performance stuff.

SavaStore - good prices - can be slow at delivery - occasional offers of further discount and free delivery.

Dabs - rubbish delivery time - massive boxes for very small items.

Never tried to return anything to any of them.

A vote for Aria from me, use them all of the time.

Aria for me too. Bought my mobo for my PC from them and so far so good. The rest of the stuff came from Maplin ;)

Used Scan a few times over the years with no problems at all - mind you, they're only 10 minutes from home for me.

Also used Dabs a few times with no probs.

I've had big problems with Scan. Ebuyer have always been Ok for me.

We use Dabs at work: they seem OK.

but more importantly I'd price up any system carefully then look at how much a ready built machine from Dell will cost

That's very good advice.

What problems?

What problems?

A package delivered to the wrong adress, then returned because they wouldn't redirect, then refusal to refund when it got returned. Got the credit card company involved in the end.

Oh god :(

Probably a one-off, but haven't used them again.

Cheers again, best I get a spreadsheet going and compare the prices. some more seen now that I hadn't checked out. Surprised really the difference in prices for some items and how some are cheaper for 1 item and then not for another!

General comments seem to be that there is good and bad about all shops really. I know you only find out about Customer service when there's a problem but it does sway your opinion a lot about these companies.

Thumbs up to Aria from me.
