A couple of questions :)

Featured Replies

Hello

just got a Skoda fabia combi sport 1.416v done 3200 km 2008

is it normal if you engange the clutch fast in 1. gear it makes a noise from the gearbox ?? is like if you can hear the gear wheel or what you call it makes a kind of rattle, which goes away when the cluth is fully engaged

if i use the speeder pedal it do not make that kind of noise. you know.. clutch and gas at the same time.

it do not do in reverse only in the 1. and 2. gear.. cant hear it in 3. maby because of the speed :)

and also.. :)

it i set the gear in netruel and disengage the cluth i makes a clonk sound.. not to loud just a little bit.. it do not do it when the car is turned off.. only when it is turned on.

Sorry for my poor english :)

and iam also new to this site :)

Great site btw !

maby iam just to picky ? :)

any body that can test it out for me ??

with the same engine...

i can only hear it when it is in my garage... it is almost the same sound as when you put it in gear when the engine is off..

I have a Fabia estate (08) with the 1.4 16v engine and I don't hear any clonking noises when changing gear. My car has done just over 3000 miles and is 3 months old. It is important to change smoothly, matching the revs to the engine speed of the new gear, so the gear teeth can engage smoothly.

hello :)

it dosent make eny sounds when i change gear while driving..

only when i are parked and the car is running and it is in neutreul.. if i then pres down on the clutch and release it makes a klonk sound... not too loud.

the klonk sound when driving must be because iam engaging the clutch to fast/hard... i think ??

and i can ONLY hear the sounds when the window is roled down.. other wise i cant not hear it :)

Sounds perfectly normal to me! If your engine or gearbox stops making any sounds/noises, you should worry..

is it the idler bearing? (hope that's the correct terminology) you can hear a quiet little clunk noise when you lift the clutch in neutral, but I think that is normal
