My First Problem

Featured Replies

The rubber seal at the bottom of the "A" pillar on the outside joining to the front wing on the passenger side has been torn off. I presume it was by the force of the wind as I have been travelling.

Has anyone else had the same problem?

You can have a new pillar trim under warranty...

I had same problem (myFabia.com.ua). Russian dealers replace this under warranty. But our Ukrainian dealer is still silent in this case :)

Anyway I got used to its look without that seal. Even if you replace it it may get ripped off during next wash or something. It's very gentle.

I went to your site and saw the photo. It is exactly the same as my problem but unfortunately I could understand the writing.

There's nothing interesting in my words there :) Just description of the "problem" :)

Small gap under the left pillar still remains but as I said - I got used to it and I don't think it is kind of important detail. So I think I may event forget about it in a few weeks :)

But you should contact your dealer I guess. Maybe they just have several of thoose to replace.

same problem for me. I was a little concerned about the seals all round, rightly so. Replaced under warranty though.

Just so you know, I've had a phone call to say my A pillar trim bits have arrived. It looks like Skoda have got their alternative supplier sorted out. :)

So those of you who are waiting for replacements shouldn't be waiting much longer.

Both of mine have now been torn off by the wind. Are they really worth replacing? What is their purpose?

They just reduce wind resistance/noise and I suspect, the accumulation of grime in hard to reach places.

Replacement is free (warranty repair) and only takes 20-30 mins to fit.

I had my 'A' pillar seal replaced just a couple of weeks ago (missing from new!). Skoda dealers seem to be able to get them ok now. I've noticed it has reduced a slight wind noise at speeds above 60 miles per hour that I previously thought was coming from the drivers window.

i seem to have the same wind problem

u think that it has got nothing to do with the windows..

cuz the work shop guys have not been able to find the fault so far

and whioch fabia do u have ??( is it the 2007 make )

Chase, I have the 2008 Fabia 2 1.4TDI PD 80 Estate. My drivers side lower 'A' pillar seal was missing from new. The gap it leaves is enough, it seems, to allow the airflow to be disturbed and cause some noise.

my 57 model has started to lose one, plus now i check them on every fabia i see and lots of 08 models don't seem to have any fitted.
