Interesting thread with dyno plots on the power gains from water alone, 50% methanol, 50% ethanol.

Seems from the discussion that with a standard turbo there is up to a 64% improvement in TQ, 63% +bhp.

Humm, where can i get some of that from.

Even with just water, it gives a good power increase.

I think ill get mine mapped to de-ironized water with screen wash (so its ok for winter).

That way, i cant really ever run out if theres a tap near buy.

I would probably just drink strongbow, ethanol makes you forget too fast.

a friend of mine whos got a looney vectra turbo with a reliable 300+bhp is looking into water injection, as hes now being stopped from more power by intake temps rising too high.

the last rolling road session i watched he got a flame coming from the tubular manifold where he hadnt quite wrapped a certain section correctly!

it still amazes me the temps these turbos run at! not had much experiance with diesel turbos, do they get as hot? as in glowing bright red???

WI lets you run insane boost in a petrol. Met a biomedical engineer the other day who has a skyline running about 28 psi IIRC. Should the WI fail though, he'll handgrenade his engine in about 2 secs....

eek!! hes already had a rod out the side of his old block, so i know he wont want that happening! lol hes running a custom 3 stage boost switch. "low", "medium" and "stick your head between your legs and kiss your ar5e goodbye"

but dear god 28psi!!! bet thats a bit quick;)
