Hi there,

I have an 03 Octavia Ambiente 1.6 and started to get errors on the dash over the last week. Airbag, traction control but got two more today - engine management and brake sensor (which are ok).

She has a 16pin connector under the steering column.

so, wanted to get a usb cable from ebay to use with my laptop to see what the errors are.

Can some one pick a usb cable from ebay - an actual link - as I'm not sure which to get.

And do I use the free-ware from Ross-tech ? a link also please (not sure which one on the Ross-tech site - super-noob)

If all else fails - off to the Skoda dealer.

is this the one so.

and will this reset the abs, traction and engine lights ?

or am I better off with a usb cable to a laptop ?

Why don't you use the newer 409.1 Matt?

Or is there something about the 311.2 thats better?

If you haven't gotten this resolved ask on Vagdrivers.net there is loads of lads in Dublin and surrounding areas that will scan it for you.
