pd100 tuning

Featured Replies

hi im new to the forum, i know this has proberly been discussed a million times but just wanted to clarify it for myself. I have a pd100 a4 which is having a hybrid turbo made at the minute by derv doctor. He has told me it has a pd150 compressor wheel in a machined pd130 housing with a 180 bhp turbine. i was wondering what kind of power do you think i will be getting with a map by derv doctor also i have a k&n filter aswell as full turbo back milltek exhaust. i am hoping to see close to 200bhp is that realistic??

what else would be worth while mods

intake mani??

egr blanking???

injectors???

Didn`t you talk about this to Gavin first? 200bhp no way untill you change the injectors and add a FMIC plus you might want to find out if your getting a hybrid turbo or a PD150 turbo. Turbo Dynamics do hybrid turbos which Derv Doctor sale:

Set 1 - PD130

Stage 1 = MD345 = GT17 compressor wheel.

Stage 2 = MD446 = GT20 compressor wheel.

Set 2 - PD150

Stage 1 = MD374 = GT17 compressor wheel

Stage 2 = MD376 = GT20 compressor wheel

Stage 1 – MD374

Hi flow GT17 compressor wheel, cnc machined compressor housing, 360 degree thrust bearing, cut back turbine blades, lightening of turbine wheel for faster ‘spool up’, modified V.N.T. turbine housing, uprated turbine seals. Other ‘blueprinting’ modifications. APPROX 200 - 220 BHP

Stage 2 – MD376

Hi flow 2275 spec compressor wheel, cnc machined compressor housing, 360 degree thrust bearing, cut back turbine blades, lightening of turbine wheel for faster ‘spool up’, modified V.N.T. turbine housing, uprated turbine seals. Other ‘blueprinting’ modifications. APPROX 240-260 BHP

Stage 1 £925 plus VAT for new unit

Stage 2 £975 plus VAT for new unit

You will also need an uprated clutch to handle the power and sort out some better brakes so you can use the power.

hi m8, its deffinately a hybrid as they have machined out my turbo housing aswell as having to machine a 130 compressor housing to ensure the 150compressor wheel will fit, the reason the compressor housing was machined is that in a A4 the engine is mounted transversly so if a 150 compressor housing was used this would foul on the radiator. I did speak with gavin he said that the turbo has turned out a bit bigger so he thinks 200bhp will be achiveable. but was wondering if anyone had done anything like this on a pd100 before. well hopefully it will come back close to 200bhp anything above 185bhp with standard injectors and intercooler would be a good result

cheers for the info there tho
