Loud vibration from dashboard area.HELP PLEASE

Featured Replies

I posted a threat last summer regarding a similar problem which simply disapeared over the winter. This summer it back, worse than ever. It appears to be a heat related issue, worse when the sun is out. If the sun is not out it usually starts after about 30 mins of driving after the engine has warmed up. Its at its worst when going round corners or decelerating. Sounds as if it is comming from the dash near the centre.

My dealership have been great so far and have taken out the dash, taped down cables etc and replaced the centre cubbie hole thing but it is as bad as ever.

The noise sounds as if there is a piece of plastic or thin piece of metal vibrating. Has anyone had similar problems and if so how were they solved.I am wondering if it may be something inside the radio unit!!!!!!!!!

Vehicle is an 07 Skoda Octavia

There were some issues with dashbaord vents. A modified replacement was issued.

I had same problem in my octy 4x4 1.9td; it was fixed by National Winscreens taking off the wiper arms, removing the plastic panel at the outside base of the screen and stuffing a rubber bung between the wiper motor and a metal bracket that runs under them.

Got a similar problem - tried just about everything to fix it (including removing the dash) without success.

Gonna give your solution a go, when I get chance.

I'm guessing the wiper motor's easy to spot, with the plenum chamber cover removed?
