De-badging my VRS????

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have managed to take off my fabia letters and i would like to take off the skoda logo on the back but leave the VRS badge. Does anyone know a product that may melt the glue that it is stuck on with? or a way of removing it if its screwed on?

Cheers. :)

i removed the skoda badge from the front and back of my fabia vrs very easily, i just used some fishing wire to break the adhesion and levered off the badge, bear in mind when the badge comes off there are 2 holes left in the bodywork when the badge comes off. I used the vrs badges bought on the forum to cover the holes, also the badges came clean off and no stick tape was left on the bodywork

Pretty sure that removing the Skoda badge will leave a few holes in the boot :) Not stuck on like the Fabia lettering as far as I'm aware :D

You can also soften the adhesive using a hair drier, although your neighbours may wonder what you're doing to the car ... I know mine did ;)

Was going to say that :D

Am I missing something here ?....................What's the point of buying a Skoda , and then taking the badges off .

Ashamed are we ???....................Take the vRS badges off and leave the Skoda ones on !!

De badging is just for a cleaner look, also easier to clean as dirt and/or polish allways get stuck in the blighters.

I'd leave the central Skoda badge though. Best thing to get the badges off I found was fine fishing line and use a sawing action with the line behind the badge, doesnt mark the paint. You need either tar and glue to remove the sticky stuff or a small amount of white spirit and a bit of elbow grease then polish up after.

I have seen the rear Skoda badge removed and the holes covered with the vRS badge on a certain famous octy

its not that im ashamed, i love my furby but i want it minimalist at the back! i think it looks nice, and its good to extend the conversation from, "look at that new Skoda, apparently its the same as a VW!" ...to... "blo$dy h*ll that looks good what is it... oh my g*d its a skoda!"

Anyhow, thanks, im gonna move the Vrs badge over the holes, how can i stick it back on!?

Also when the alloys are re-painted Anthrasite (Gum metal Grey), the suspension stiffened, the windows tinted a little more and the CPU remap (185BHP)it'll be great.

Look out for me in surrey!
